So we had the Action Plumbing and Heating guy over yesterday to give our furnace a tune-up and green sticker, and to change the filter. Well, it turns out we've been living in a death trap. Our furnace is unsafe to operate because it is 42 years old and the filter hasn't been changed in over 5 years. So we'll be getting a new furnace tonight, which will cost us $2000 (there goes our tax refund). We had to sleep without heat last night, but it wasn't really bad until we had to uncover ourselves to get ready for the day. It only got down to 62 degrees in our house last night so if we had to, we could probably deal with no heat every night, but then we NEED it in the morning.

That is crazy! And that is cold, I feel your pain though, Dennis turns the temp down to 64 often at night (and sometimes in the day too), it is so cold but him and Tavin are fine with it! BBRRR!
